Kenneth and June Ashburner created this spectacular woodland garden on the edge of Dartmoor National Park beginning in the 1970s, and many of the magnificent trees that grace the 5-acre garden were grown from seed collected by Kenneth on his travels around the Northern Hemisphere. The garden has matured to create a beautiful combination of art and nature, set in one of the loveliest parts of the West Country. Sadly, Kenneth passed away in 2010, followed by June in 2016, so to secure the future of this precious collection of trees, in 2011 a charitable company limited by guarantee was formed, charity No. 1141252, administered by a board of trustees. The charity has one full-time employee, our garden manager Paul Bartlett, who is supported by volunteers and self-employed workers hired for various tasks.
