Kenneth Ashburner  (1927-2010).

1935-1944 – St Michael’s College, Tenbury wells, Worcs and Wellington School, Somerset.

1945-1947  РNational Service including travel to Sri Lanka, Singapore, Japan, Vietnam and France.

1948-1952 – Wye College, University of London. Degree in Horticulture.

1953-1961 – Teaching in London and surrounding counties interspersed with practical gardening, particularly pruning. 1958-1961 – Landscape Design course at London University.

1962-1965 – Garden Design including Landscape Manager for Span Developments, Richmond.

1965-1973 – Self employed Garden Designer. London and Devon. Articles for journals and magazines.

1973 – Start of arboretum at Stone Farm, with first plantings of Betula and Alnus.

1977 – First of collecting and photographing journeys – Cantabrian Mountains of Northern Spain.
