Betula dahurica seedlings (Dahurian Birch tree)

Click for larger image

Betula dahurica is a most unusual tree, with its shredded, tightly peeling bark. A real eye-catcher.
The outer bark is a pale creamy pink with darker reds and browns underneath. Good autumn colour.

When young the bark is smoother, and becomes more rough and tightly peeling with age.

These seedlings are growing strongly and are ready for planting now.
