Betula pendula ssp.mandshurica (syn. platyphylla) – Far eastern silver birch tree

Betula pendula ssp. mandshurica is a slender, delicate tree with smooth white bark. Early leafing. Young translucent leaves are very attractive in the March sun. Far Eastern equivalent of our silver birch but with a smoother bark that stays smooth and white with age. Lovely yellow autumn colour.

Eventual height: 9-15 metres, very slender growth with small crown.
