Multiple layers that connect together to form a dodecahedron, one of the five platonic solids. The Pythagoreans of ancient Greece identified the dodecahedron with the ‘quintessence’, the fifth element that connected the elements of fire, earth, water and air. It has 20 interlocking parts providing a physical connection and a balance between object within space and space within object.
