About Scension

Scension draws from the connection between life and death, between emerging and fading, between light and dark. There is often ambiguity. What appears to be going up may be going down. And what appears to be falling may actually be rising. Ascension? Descension? Scension. What do you see here?

About Martin
I studied sculpture from life at Harrow College and then expanded my creative exploration on a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at West Dean College of Arts & Conservation. At the same time, I worked regularly from Nina Cairns’ Mapstone Studio in Devon and practiced under guidance from Luke Shepherd, Lucianne Lassalle and Eudald de Juana Gorriz. This followed a career which began as a Land Rover engineer and evolved in to marketing with companies including Saatchi and Saatchi.
