Tea Room Manager: Join the Team

Are you the Tea Room manager we need at Stone Lane Gardens?

This year, thanks to help from the LEAF Recovery Grant Fund, we can now hire a part-time Tea Room manager for the season ahead!

The funding for this position covers 10 hrs per week @ £12ph.

Opening hrs vary (usually 12 -5) and the role may require some weekend and holiday cover. Covid permitting, the start date will be Mon 22nd March, ready to reopen the following weekend.

The successful applicant will take over the day-to-day management of the tea room and be responsible for meeting objectives agreed with the charity (via the nominated trustee) to ensure that the tea room continues to be a self-supporting, calm and welcoming hub at the heart of the garden.

Thanks to all the hard work of our brilliant volunteer team last year (and despite all the COVID-19 uncertainties) our first tea room season was a great success.

We are now looking for the best person to build on this great start.

Tea Room manager responsibilities

  • Managing day-to-day operations of the tea room
  • Organising: ordering, stocking and safeguarding systems to ensure our visitors and friends enjoy a safe visit and top quality local produce
  • Supporting tea room volunteers: coordinating rotas and providing the training and tools needed to ensure safe and seamless Stone Lane service

Skills and experience 

Our ideal Tea Room manager will have strong organisational skills, with front of house experience in a catering or retail food business;  enjoy being Stone Lane Garden‘s ambassador in our lovely new tea room and support our volunteer team to provide a safe environment and excellent service for our visitors and Friends.
