Description
Beautiful trees, much loved by gardeners. Perhaps the finest of all birches for subtlety of bark. ‘Bowling Green’ has a warm pinkish-brown bark, with pink and honey-coloured shades revealed as it peels. Smooth bark, peeling freely in sheets. Delicate foliage. Light shade. Originating from China. One of the early E.H. Wilson introductions. Eventual height: 9-15 metres, lightly spreading crown.
