Description
Betula pendula ssp. mandshurica is a slender, delicate tree with smooth white bark. Early leafing but not affected by late frosts. Young translucent leaves are very attractive in the March sun. Far Eastern equivalent of our silver birch but with a smoother bark that stays smooth and white with age. Lovely yellow autumn colour.
