Chagford Conservation Group at the Gardens
On Wednesday morning, 1 November, Chagford Conservation Group members visited the Gardens to work on a project planting more trees in the new arboretum. The volunteers managed to put in a large number of rare New Zealand conifers to add to the collection of newly planted birch and alder on the slopes overlooking the Teign valley. Over a number of years the field, known as Kenneth’s Field, will become another focal point for visitors to this very special place. (Pictures courtesy of Sue McNeil).
