STONE LANE BOTANIC GARDENS – OFFICIAL

The trustees of Stone Lane Gardens are very pleased to disclose that the gardens have recently achieved the much sought after official designation of ‘Botanic’. This has been granted in the past few days by the international awarding body of Botanic Conservation Gardens International (BCGI), based at Kew, www.bgci.org, in recognition of the high standard that the Garden has achieved.

Stone Lane Gardens is now on the BCGI global data base and is listed around the world alongside Cambridge University Botanic Garden, The Eden Project, the National Botanic Garden of Wales in the UK and the Australian National Botanic Gardens, Botanic Garden of the University of Bern in Switzerland and Key West Tropical Forest & Botanical Gardens in the USA, among others.

The trustees are especially keen to thank gardens manager Paul Bartlett for his development of the Gardens during his entire tenure at Stone Lane Gardens, and without whom this outstanding international recognition would not have been made possible.
