Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Do you allow dogs in the garden?
A. Yes, your four-legged friends are welcome in the garden, as long as they are on a lead. They may even meet our garden dog, Bailey!

Q. What time is the garden open?
A. From 10-6pm in summer, 10am till dusk in winter. Garden open all year round, seven days a week. Sculpture exhibition open during the summer – see The Mythic Garden page for details.

Q. Do you have a cafe?
A. No, but there are lots of eateries nearby. Castle Drogo (1.5 miles) has a good tea room. Chagford (2 miles) has several pubs and tea rooms. Whiddon Down (1.5 miles) has a good pub. Drewsteignton (2 miles) has a pub. Sandy Park (1 mile) has a pub.

Q. Do you give a discount for OAPs?

A. I am afraid we are unable to give a discount, as our admission is already quite competitive compared to other gardens and our charity does have to be self-sustaining. But if you come as a group of 10 or more, then you can receive a discount!

Q. Do you receive payment from the RHS for being a partner garden?

A. No, we receive no funding from the RHS, but they do publicise the garden.
