Jan O'Highway

Devon artist Jan O’Highway’s sculpture ranges from the figurative and functional – seating, railings, signs and waymarkers – to abstract works of imagination and contemplation, such as Cascade mobiles.

“From a beginning studying figurative painting at Guildford College of Art in the late 1950s through to present work in abstraction, colour has always been a major element in my output. The chromatic intensity of fused glass combines wonderfully with the clear lines and strength of steel to create durable sculpture for public spaces and private gardens.

 

I have been fortunate to receive many & varied commissions from local authorities and private clients in the past, and am delighted to currently be in Stourbridge Glass Museum’s exhibition of eco-friendly upcycled glass, GREENER GLASS, which won the Museum and Heritage Awards 2025 Sustainable Project of the Year”
