Description
Chinese Red Birch are beautiful trees, much loved by gardeners. Perhaps the finest of all birches for subtlety of bark. Betula albosinensis ‘China Rose’ has a more solidly red bark than some, with noticeably less of the white blooming common in B. albosinensis, making a stunning tree. A real eye-catcher. Selected from a specimen tree from Gansu in our arboretum.
Smooth bark, peeling freely in sheets. Delicate foliage. Light shade. Originating from China.
Height: 9-15 metres, lightly spreading crown.
