The theme for 2021 was ‘regeneration’. This reflected the need for society to regenerate after the impact of COVID-19 and Stone Lane Garden’s own regeneration through the planting of a new birch arboretum. The winner of the first Ashburner prize, for the piece that best articulated regeneration, was Nicola Turner with ‘This Mortal Coir’. All artists exhibited are based in or connected to the South West of England.
